{"id":144,"date":"2017-02-01T22:28:22","date_gmt":"2017-02-02T06:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thekyo.me\/wordpress\/?p=144"},"modified":"2017-02-01T22:28:22","modified_gmt":"2017-02-02T06:28:22","slug":"travel-with-baby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thekyo.me\/test\/2017\/02\/01\/travel-with-baby\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel with Baby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When we had Preston the tip we got from our more experienced parent friends about flight travel was to do it while he was still between 3 and 10 months old. \u00a0It sounds young, but stick with me&#8230;there are some pretty good reasons.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kiddos still sleep a ton at this point<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ve gotten them at least the first set of immunization shots (you are doing that&#8230;right?)<\/li>\n<li>They&#8217;re not that mobile yet which leads into&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>They don&#8217;t get bored from sitting in one place \u00a0(relative to after they can walk I am told)<\/li>\n<li>Kid doesn&#8217;t need a ticket as a lap baby (International flights may require some taxes and fees)<\/li>\n<li>You can ask for a seat that has access to a baby bassinet. \u00a0They may charge you some nominal fee for this, but it&#8217;s so worth to be able to put kiddo down for a bit during the flight so you can do stuff&#8230;like eat&#8230;really fast. \u00a0It&#8217;s also convenient to give them a place to sleep. \u00a0Note that most bassinets have weight\/size restrictions that will vary from airline to airline (so check!)<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re breast feeding, the baby&#8217;s food supply comes with no cleaning or extra luggage!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Will it still be stressful? \u00a0You bet. \u00a0But your other options are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t go out<\/li>\n<li>Only go for drives<\/li>\n<li>Wait for kiddo to grow up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So go for it. \u00a0Don&#8217;t be too worried and please ignore the haters when they see you with the kid. \u00a0Just focus on the fact that you&#8217;re about to spend some quality time with you little one. \u00a0You can always\u00a0make the first move and offer some good will to your neighbors =) \u00a0Happy Traveling!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/QM3xBv\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/717\/32014863751_e6f7a2e233_z.jpg?resize=480%2C640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"2016-11-10 12.07.58-1\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When we had Preston the tip we got from our more experienced parent friends about flight travel was to do it while he was still between 3 and 10 months old. \u00a0It sounds young, but stick with me&#8230;there are some pretty good reasons.
