{"id":155,"date":"2017-02-01T22:54:01","date_gmt":"2017-02-02T06:54:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thekyo.me\/wordpress\/?page_id=155"},"modified":"2017-02-01T22:54:01","modified_gmt":"2017-02-02T06:54:01","slug":"baby-stuff","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/thekyo.me\/test\/baby-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"Baby Stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Below is a list of all the stuff we&#8217;ve gotten for P with a short blurb about my thoughts on each.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/sheets\/about\/\">Google Sheets<\/a>: We didn&#8217;t use any baby apps to track stuff&#8230;I found Google Sheets on the desktop and mobile to be more flexible and perfect for multiple users<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2lm1O5n\">Wool Dryer Balls<\/a> &#8211; We got these as a natural alternative for\u00a0dryer sheets for P. \u00a0They supposedly help things dry faster and do remove static cling.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2kQNjd9\">Lasko Ceramic Heater<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0It&#8217;s quiet and heats up P&#8217;s room pretty fast during the winter. \u00a0I don&#8217;t care that it&#8217;s not automatic because we turn it off when we leave the room.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2krW4GJ\">Spectra Breast Pump<\/a> &#8211; It&#8217;s less known than the big brands, but if your insurance covers this seriously consider it. \u00a0It&#8217;s quiet and pretty light. \u00a0It has features like dual-phase pumping (letdown mode). \u00a0 It&#8217;s also got a closed system which means no milk flows into the pumping mechanism and helps prevent bacteria\/mold from growing in the pump. \u00a0It also costs less than much of the competition. \u00a0I personally didn&#8217;t use this, but from a sample size of 3 women that did, they all recommended this pump over others. \u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2krW4GJ\">corded version<\/a> is ~$120 and the <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2kFsaQb\">cordless\u00a0version<\/a> is ~$170. \u00a0It&#8217;s priced well enough that you could go for a Medala with your insurance and just straight up purchase a Spectra to compare.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2l3akaJ\">Swaddles<\/a> &#8211; Ah&#8230;they are highly flexible blankets for your baby. \u00a0You\u00a0can wrap your kiddo up like a burrito early on so they can sleep. \u00a0They are also great sun shades and light blankets. \u00a0We really like the Aden + Anais muslin swaddles. \u00a0Be sure you&#8217;re getting the 47&#8243; x 47&#8243; Aden and Anais ones. \u00a0There are slightly smaller and cheaper ones by their Aden by Aden + Anais brand (yes&#8230;that&#8217;s confusing) that we felt were a little less soft and about 3&#8243; smaller. \u00a0We found we missed the 3&#8243; so I&#8217;d just stick to the slightly pricier set.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2km0B27\">Infant Car Seat + Base<\/a> &#8211; We got the Chicco Keyfit 30 seat and base. \u00a0There are a lot of other brands that are great in this category. \u00a0We also highly considered the <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2kFo7Dn\">Britax Travel System<\/a>\u00a0because it comes with a stroller for when the kid gets older. \u00a0What broke the tie? \u00a0We got a Keyfit from a friend. \u00a0Seriously try to get a used one in good condition from a friend if possible (The base and seats each have separate expiration dates so check them!) \u00a0Your kid is in these for only about a year before they&#8217;re too tall (it&#8217;s unlikely they&#8217;ll hit the weight limit before the height limit) so it&#8217;s usually easy to find used ones that have another 3 years before they expire.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2CA5clS\">Travel Car Seat<\/a> &#8211; We&#8217;re using the Diono Radian RXT for our travel seat.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not particularly light, but does fold up small and the steel frame makes it really sturdy.\u00a0 It supposedly has straps that let you carry it like a backpack, but doesn&#8217;t come with them.\u00a0 They&#8217;re a separate purchase.\u00a0 TBH I think they just should have included a set.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2yUgxuL\">ThinkSport Sunscreen<\/a> &#8211; We tried California Baby, Badger, and ThinkBaby.\u00a0 We liked ThinkBaby the most.\u00a0 It was easiest to put on of the 3.\u00a0 All 3 are zinc base blocking types, so we went with the most convenient one knowing that the more convenient ones are the ones I&#8217;m more likely to put on and if I&#8217;m not using it, it doesn&#8217;t matter how good it is.\u00a0 Note that the ThinkSport is the same as ThinkBaby minus scents.\u00a0 I get whatever&#8217;s cheaper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Below is a list of all the stuff we&#8217;ve gotten for P with a short blurb about my thoughts on each.
